UET Lahore My Dream Place
I was so much curious and excited when I got admission in the
University of Engineering and Technology. I was feeling like a bird flying and swirling in a broader shiny sky. I have enthusiastically planned so much for my upcoming life of University. As my teachers and my parents told me that University is the place where you can prove your skills and build your desired career but with efforts and hard work. So, I am well prepared and looking forward for my new destination.
My first day in the university was a memorable one. I arrived at the university via university bus. That half hour in the bus was kind of fun as well as embarrassing because I became the victim of ragging at just 7 in the morning. The bus arrived at the university at 7.45 A.M. The pleasing fine day finally comes and I stepped in the University premises with high resolutions and courage. I was feeling so happy and gazing the girls wrapped in the colors of rainbow smiling and talking around me. It was like everything is welcoming me with open arms and shiny eyes. I was bit nervous also but have composed myself with confidence and start exploring the departments. It is situated on a very large area and has many departments and grounds also. I rushed up to information cell to get all the details regarding time table, departments and rules. It was all very systematic and here I came to know that the new comers had to go to the
University Auditorium for their orientation by 10:00 am.
In meanwhile I met my college fellow. We then went to the auditorium there was a welcoming for the session 17’. A brief introduction of our University and semester system had given to us and the rules and regulations explained. It was quite boring as it is our first day in University So we expect adventures speeches. We met some more of our classmates there. It was a 3-hour session. After this, a University tour has given to us on University bus. Then we came out of the auditorium and our beloved seniors caught us and took us to the lecture theater for ragging. It was a fun session. We did a lot of things we never intended to do. It boasted up our confidence a bit and we interacted with our seniors which was a good session. It was almost 01.30pm in the afternoon now. Yes! The ragging session was a long one. Next, we went to ANNEXE because of its very famous
Panga Shake. It took us 30 minutes to find the place.
I, with Aniqa, when reached there, found a group of seniors. They start interviewing us and gave us a task to introduce ourselves in Urdu language. First, we thought it was a quite easy task but when we start, we realized that there are a lot of words in English which we don’t know how to translate in Urdu. Here I got a lesson nothing is easy if you don’t know anything about it. Then some of our seniors helped us and we completed our task. After that welcoming we went straight to the National Library. We were there till 4. I found a novel,
“Sometimes You win, sometimes you (lose) learn” by John C Maxwell, to read.
At 4’o’ clock I went to the bus stand, found my bus and sit on it. I finally reached home around 5. It was a fun day. I learned some things from our seniors and did a lot of things I never imagined I would do in public. It was memorable indeed!
